The Big Book Launch

Hey, hey, to all you lovely bastards out there in Cyberland! It's me again (Jon) with a quick reminder that the Big Book Launch is tomorrow night and I think you may know which book I'm talking about, too. Click here for info on the festivities or just read it below. Come one, come all.

From the website:
"We are having a launch party at 6 PM on Saturday, March 31st at University Baptist Church (1219 University Ave SE, Minneapolis, MN, and map) on 13th and University. Come get a chance to meet the authors, get your hands on a copy of the book, and even get that book signed by the authors."

Hear that? You get to meet the authors... You lucky ducks.

See you there,

P.S. Free food, folks. Free food.

Cifiscape Vol. 2

The new Cifiscape is here! The new Cifiscape is here! Come quick! The new Cifiscape is here!

That's right, cats and kittens, the long wait is over. The day has finally come. Today. Right now. You can buy your very own copy of Cifiscape Volume 2 which includes a short story by yours truly!

I may have mentioned this before.

Click HERE or HERE to get a copy, something of your very own to take home, to hug on cold nights and to love--maybe even more than your own children eventually--and to just, you know, spend some quality time with. It's something to just enjoy being yourself with, just you and some good stories. Cifiscape Volume 2 doesn't judge you. Read it in your underwear, Cifiscape Volume 2 doesn't care. Cifiscape Volume 2 loves you, man, unconditionally. It'll change your life, I promise (wink, point, smile).

Get your copy now.

I mean, you want to be well-read and fan-ready for the Big Book Launch, right? You don't want to be unprepared, do you? What if you get there and everyone has their own copy and shit and they all look at you like: "You're no true Cifiscape Volume 2 fan." What do you say to that? What CAN you say to that? Think of the shame... What's that? You didn't know about the Big Book Launch? What? Tsk, tsk. Click HERE, friends, click HERE... It's ok, there's still time.

See you there.

Snow White and the Huntsman

What is this?

What's going on here?

This is an updated adaptation of the fairytale of Snow White and it's starring Kirsten Stewart and it kind of looks like it might be kind of good... KIRSTEN STEWART, people!

Did I spell her name right?

...Who cares.

Anyway, just to hear the film described, you wouldn't think a movie like that would pique my interest, because it just sounds terrible. Like I said a couple of sentences ago, it's an updated adaptation of the fairytale of Snow White and it stars Kirsten Stewart. That sounds terrible, right? I'm not alone in this, right? It sounds Goddamn terrible. She's terrible. And the idea of an updated "kick ass" version of Snow White? Come on! That sounds terrible, right?

And yet...

The first trailer alone put it on my 20 films I'm looking forward to list and after watching this trailer... shit, man, the film actually looks kind of awesome. I mean, granted, Kirsten Stewart could still ruin it, but there is definitely an A for effort waiting for the director and production crew at the very least. At the very least.

Don't believe me? Watch the trailer.

Pretty sweet, right? Who would've thought? Amazing... and Kirsten Stewart is definitely in it, too. You all saw her, she's all over that film. And yet... looks good.

2012 Cinema Fun Fact
No less than THREE of the 20 films I am looking forward to this year feature Chris Hemsworth. Weird, huh?

I found this little short film over at Io9 today, but it's from Oddball Animation studios and it's a really nice showreel piece of Post-Apocalypticy goodness that may eventually lead into something larger. Either way, it's fun and exciting and cool looking. Plus, there's some good action and explosions.

It's not bad. Check it out, it's called Ruin.

Pretty cool,

If it wasn't for a couple of upcoming movies that are in line before it--for obvious reasons--this movie would be my most anticipated film of the year. It's on my listI've talked about it a bit before now, as some of you may remember. I was excited to begin with, but everything I see just makes me more and more excited. And this new trailer? Stunning. I love it. Can't wait.

Watch it. Watch it once. Watch it twice.

All about me over at the Scribblerati

Good news! Good news! Today is the day where I finally got off my ass and finally got around to posting something over at the Scribblerati blog, and it only took me a little over a week or so. I know, I know, bad me, but you know what? I have an excuse this time and it's a legitimate one, too!

I was busy.

Seriously though, Hurricane Baby made landfall here in the Twin Cities for about a week, along with Mr. Sweet-pants and the Michelopedia so I had shit to do. Whattya gonna do? Sue me. But now I'm back, so swing on over there and read up, kids, because it concerns two handsome devils.

This handsome devil:

Interested? Come on now, you know you are...
